NotesOne stop (Stop 4) on this tour is Cape Lookout State Park, where the increase in storm intensitites and wave heights and major El Ninos have caused the erosion of Netarts Spit. Revetment at Cape Lookout is discussed, as are erosion issues for the area around it. The authors feel that a breach of the Netarts Spit is likely in the next decade.
