NotesThis Ph.D. thesis was the first report on intensive archeology research in the northern Pacific coast "on an area extending several hundred miles in length." (from the Prefatory Note) It describes, in detail, archeological material derived from excavations on Netarts Sand Spit (Sites Ti-1 and Ti-1A) and makes conclusions about the emergence of the Tillamook as a distinct culture. It also covers the Strain Site (Cu-47) in Curry County. Charts, maps, photographs.
