NotesDrones (Unmanned Aerial Systems) have proved to be valuable tools for mapping and taking inventory of coastal resources. This abstract of an oral presentation describes how the Oregon Dept. of Fish & Wildlife (ODFW)’s Shellfish and Estuarine Assessment of Coastal Oregon (SEACOR) project has begun using drones. “The results will highlight the recent collaboration between ODFW and the Career Tech Charter High School (Lincoln City) Coastal Drone Academy utilizing UAS to map the distribution of eelgrass beds in Netarts Bay, Oregon, as an example of how data from UAS surveys can be applied to monitoring and management.” From the 55th annual conference, held in Bend, Oregon, March 5-8, 2019.
