NotesDescribes inspection of oyster beds in Netarts Bay to see if Japanese oyster drill were present. "Sixty-five clusters of 4-year-old oysters were examined, from which 17 drills were found . . . The large spread of size is an indication that successful reproduction has taken place. This represents the first official record of Japanese oyster drills in Oregon, although, according to Ed Ferry, the bed foreman of Coast Oyster Company, they have been present for about 10-15 years." (p.12-13) Report also includes description and map of the Netarts Bay oyster grounds.
