Notes | This Master’s thesis from The Netherlands looks at tidal inlets around the world and the dune fields associated with them. The author examines the variables that affect dune size and migration. The biggest driver of change is tidal inlet migration, which doesn’t happen in Netarts Bay due to rocky formations on one side of the bay. The author finds that the dune field in the Netarts area is expanding. An appendix gives a summary of the physical parameters of the bay that relate to the dune field. Includes aerial photograph. |
